AirlinesRatings.com has announced its list of awards for 2017. The global airline rating agency is known to award the best in the Airline industry for their excellence in various aspects. The results are based on four major international industry and government audits, with another nine key criteria including fleet age, profitability, passenger review ratings, investment rating and key product offerings. Airline of the year
Air New Zealand clinched the honor of Airline of the year for its fourth consecutive year. It won on account of its record-breaking financial performance, award-winning in-flight innovations, operational safety, environmental leadership and motivation of its staff. Due to these factors, Air New Zealand has come to be known as an industry trendsetter.
Best First Class airline
Etihad Airways won the award for the best First Class for its third consecutive year. UAEs national carrier also boasts of a luxury suite that has a living room, bedroom, a shower and its very own butler. No wonder it has been a leader in Luxury Air Travel for years. Best In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)
Emirates took the award for IFE, being one of the first airlines to have seats fitted with IFE way back in 1993. It also offers several other facilities like tracking progress of your flight, taking in the view from the aircrafts external cameras, keeping you updated with live business, news and sport headlines. It also provides phone, SMS or email capability and offers around 600 channels of premium entertainment.
This one went to Qantas for its overseas offerings, complimentary food and beverage offers. It was also the leader in installing showers. One of the key factros that led to Qantas’ victory was its efficient broadband Internet access which was better than that of other airlines.
Other winners in various categories for 2017 include Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic, Norwegian, Flybe, Garuda Indonesia, Scoot, Kulula.com, Virgin America and Delta Air Lines.
Singapore Airlines won the Best Economy Class award on account of its constant innovation and consistent performance in the arena. It has always been known as a leader in the economy class product. Be it the introduction of free headsets and free drinks to economy passengers way back in the 1960s, or the seat back videos in the early 1990s, SIngapore Airlines have always led the way to great service in the economy class product.
