According to prosecution, Ashirwadam had taken photographs of the girl bathing and raped her after threatening that he would make the pictures public. On a complaint from the girl’s mother, cases were registered against him under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
