(Eds: Repeating with correcting the amount of cannabis seized) Ghaziabad, Apr 1 (PTI) Six people have been arrested on the charge of peddling drugs and around 9 kg cannabis was seized from them, the police said here today.
During a raid conducted at a number of places in Rajiv Vihar colony under Khoda municipality area last night, five people people were arrested and 6.5 kg cannabis was seized from them, SP (City) Akash Tomar said.
In Madhopur under Vijay Nagar police station area, one person was arrested with 2.7 kg cannabis, the police officer said.
The accused have been identified as Mohit, Sanjiv, Mukesh, Pramod, Omveer and Yusuf, the SP said, adding, during interrogation they have confessed that they were involved in selling cannabis.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation into the case is underway, Tomar said.
