Udhagamandalam, Jun 14 (PTI): Seven passengers were killed and 27 others injured, some of them seriously, when a bus fell into a 500-feet deep gorge near Udhagamandalam in the hilly Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu today, police said. Also Read - 7 Injured in Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu's Madurai

Of the 27 injured, nineteen people had been taken to the government hospital in neighbouring Coimbatore while others were admitted to the government hospital here.
The condition of the bus conductor was stated to be critical, police said.
The bus was proceeding to nearby Coonoor from here.
Several parts of the Nilgiris district have been receiving heavy rains for the past few days.
