The AIADMK had been urging the government to collect dues from various categories of power consumers and also those owing taxes to municipalities, commercial tax department and excise department, AIADMK leader A Anbalagan told reporters here. Anbalagan also alleged the Electricity department frittered away funds on purchase of power meters made in Chennai, which involved heavy investment.
