The AIADMK leader, who is the party’s Erode district secretary, said he had been receiving a number of complaints that employees of the liquor outlets were selling products at premium rates and had therefore called office-bearers of Erode TASMAC Employees Joint Action Committee to to direct them to sell at government fixed rates. The committee’s office-bearers had submitted a petition to the Erode Superintendent of Police, stating that the MLA had recently called office-bearers of the Tasmac Employees Association and ordered them to pay Rs 21,000 as bribe.
