“Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has approved the name of Ajoy Kumar as the new Jharkhand PCC chief and Alamgir Alam as the CLP leader of Jharkhand Congress Legislature Party,” a statement by party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said. The Congress vice president also approved a list of five zonal coordinators, seven organisational and election-related committees of the state unit.
The five zonal coordinators who have been appointed are Rama Khalkho, Ashok Choudhary, Kamlesh Mahto, Sultan Ahmad, Bhim Kumar. They will not contest the Jharkhand Assembly elections, the statement said.
Gandhi also formed a campaign committee headed by former Union minister Subodh Kumar Sahay, a coordination committee chaired by K N Tripatthi and a manifesto committee chaired by Jai Prakash Gupta, it added.
