Jammu, Jun 29 (PTI) With a view to empower and impart skill to women in remote villages, the Army today undertook upgradation of its women empowerment centre in Mahore in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said. The spokesman said the Army women empowerment node, which was recently refurbished, would not only impart training to the women but also provide means of self-employment, where they can learn and earn from their produce. The women were also paid honorarium and complete profit earned from sale of items, he said.

The women have appreciated the Army’s effort in setting up of the centre, the spokesman said.
