Chandimandir (Hr), Dec 8 (PTI) The Army Service Corps celebrated its 258th Corps Day at Western Command headquarters on Saturday.
Maj Gen N S Rajpurohit, along with other serving and retired officers, in a solemn ceremony laid wreath at Veer Smriti at the Chandimandir Military Station and paid homage to slain soldiers, a defence release said here. The Army Service Corps has played a significant role in providing logistic support during war and peace.
Various events were organised at Chandimandir and tributes were paid to slain soldiers for their supreme sacrifice. Lt Gen Surinder Singh, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, extended his greetings to all ranks, civilian employees, their families and veterans of the corps on this day and commended the professionalism and excellence displayed by ASC personnel in discharging their duties.
On this special occasion, the ASC fraternity resolved to continue the march towards excellence in all fields with utmost dedication, devotion to duty and above all the will to achieve the corps motto “Seva Asmakam Dharma”.
