Bihar: Cop killed in encounter with criminals

A police officer lost his life during a gun battle with criminals on late Friday night in a border area of Khagaria district of Bihar.

Khagaria (Bihar) [India], Oct 13 (ANI): A police officer lost his life during a gun battle with criminals on late Friday night in a border area of Khagaria district of Bihar.

The deceased cop has been identified as Pasaraha Station House officer (SHO), Ashish Kumar Singh. Kumar was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

A criminal from notorious Dinesh Muni gang has also been arrested by the police. However, others managed to flee from the spot.

On receiving the information, Kumar along with several policemen left for the spot to arrest the criminals. However, the criminals opened fire first to which the police retaliated.

During the encounter, a policeman also got injured, who is currently undergoing treatment in a Bhagalpur hospital. (ANI)
