Addressing a meeting of SPs, DHPs and SHOs of southern range comprising Shimla, Kinnaur, Sirmaur, Solan and Baddi police districts, Mardi said law and order should be maintained in the state. Also Read - India could be cervical cancer free by 2079: Lancet study

“It is the duty of the police to ensure that no innocent person is harassed and no guilty person goes scot free. The tendency to file charge-sheet in the absence of credible evidence should be shunned,” he added. Also Read - CBI director convenes review meeting of all branches of agency

He stressed on the need to create awareness among the school and college students about drug menace.
