New Delhi, Jun 29 (PTI) A delegation from the European Union today visited the East Delhi Municipal Corporation’s headquarters and discussed scientific and more efficient ways of solid waste management with its officials, the civic body said. “The delegation visited the EDMC headquarters – Udyog Sadan – at Patparganj to discuss scientific and more efficient ways of solid waste management,” the EDMC said in a statement. Panagiotis Karamanos, team Leader at Technical Cooperation for Environment in India, a Swedish Environmental Research Institute, is leading the delegation.

EDMC’s Additional Commissioner Alka Sharma said it provided an opportunity to support and exchange best practices and local experiences of both India and the EU through institutional capacity building, human skill development, creation of enabling environment and promotion of climate friendly technologies.
