The accident took place at Darshan Chowk yesterday when Sher Singh and his son Vikas were returning home after attending a Ramlila function and were hit by the truck, they said. The truck driver fled from the spot after hitting them, police said, adding he was later arrested.

Locals informed the police that the injured persons were admitted to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

In another incident, a 16-year-old boy riding a motorcycle met with an accident in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area, the police said.

The boy, identified as Shoaib, is a Class 10 student.

He was rushed to a local hospital and was later discharged.
