Nagpur, Apr 27 (PTI)”Several districts of Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region continued to reel under intense heat with Chandrapur today recording the region’s highest temperature at 45.6 degrees Celsius, local meteorological department officials said.
Officials of the Regional Meteorological Centre here said that apart from Chandrapur, areas like Brahmapuri at 44.3 degrees Celsius, Wardha and Akola at 44.2 degrees Celsius, Nagpur at 44.1 degrees Celsius and Yavatmal at 43.5 degrees Celsius were also facing a heat wave.
“Amravati today was at 42.6 degrees Celsius, Gadchiroli at 43.4 degrees Celsius and Buldhana at 41.5 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
The RMC said that a heat wave was likely to occur in one or two pockets of Akola, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Wardha and Yavatmal tomorrow.
A heat wave was likely to occur on April 30 and May 1 in some areas of all the districts comprising Vidarbha.
