Reports of contaminated packaged drinking water were found in examination by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation in the wake of large scale water contamination in southern part of the city recently.
Pande blamed additional district magistrates of the respective districts for “failure” on their part to take action on the illegal or fake packaged drinking water units in the state.
“The additional district magistrates are responsible if there are any illegal packaged drinking water units are operating. Already district level task force under the chairmanship of one additional district magistrate is already in place since November 2017 to deal with illegal drinking water,” Pande told reporters outside the Assembly.
