Kolkata, Feb 13 (PTI) A middle-aged man was arrested after the police recovered a country-made pistol along with cartridges from his possession, the police said today.

Ariful Islam (35), a resident of Baruipur in South-24 Parganas district, was arrested from Collin Street in the Park Street Police Station area late last night when he was waiting for two unknown customers for the country-made 7mm loaded pistol.

A senior officer of Kolkata Police said that the two unknown customers managed to flee from the spot and the accused person, when produced before Ld CMM, Bankshall Court was remanded to police custody till Friday (February 17).
