Acting on a tip-off that a Maoist squad, led by leader Mithilesh Mahato, has entered the district, the CRPF along with a team of police officers launched raids in the area Sunday, Superintendent of Police Karthik S said here. Manjhi, who is also a member of the Mahato dasta, (squad) has fourteen naxal-related cases lodged against him, including attacks on police camps and burning of road-construction machinery, he said, adding that he was wanted by the police for the past nine years.
