Altogether 228 candidates are in fray in 84 zilla panchyat seats and 1062 contestants in 499 gram panchayat seats.

The ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) led by Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has already won 537 gram panchayat and 27 zilla panchayat seats.
