Medininagar (Jharkhand), Aug 22 (PTI) A special court of Anti-Corruption Bureau has sentenced a panchayat sevak to five-year imprisonment for demanding and accepting bribe.

Special court judge Devendra Kumar Pathak delivered the judgement against Bigu Ram yesterday.

A fine of Rs 15,000 was also imposed on him.

As per the case that was registered with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Palamau, Ram had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a road construction firm to clear its outstanding amount.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested Ram while he was accepting the bribe on June 22 last year.
