Patna, Sep 28 (PTI) The Patna High Court on Friday initiated contempt proceedings against the chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) for deliberately not implementing its orders.
Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh ordered the contempt proceedings against BSEB chairman Anand Kishore, an IAS officer, on a petition filed by a school in Vaishali district challenging the Board’s order dated April 12, 2017 cancelling the school’s affiliation.
The authorities of the Sri Ram Chandra Senior Secondary School came up with a grievance that despite quashing of the order of cancellation of affiliation by the court, the school is not being treated as affiliated to the Board.
“Quashing of the order of cancellation of affiliation has natural consequence of restoration of the affiliation. If this simple thing, the Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board is not able to understand, then either he is thoroughly incompetent to hold the position, which he is holding, or he is deliberately attempting to overreach the order of this Court,” the order said.
“Let suo motu contempt proceeding be initiated against Shri Anand Kishore, Chairman, Bihar School Examination Board, by registering a separate Miscellaneous Judicial Jurisdiction case,” it said.
The matter was posted for hearing on October 8.
