Mangaluru, Oct 21 (PTI) G Nagendra Prabhu, Associate Professor in Zoology at the University of Kerala and Dr Usha S Heranjal, Anu eye hospital, Valsad, Gujarat, have been selected for this year s Basti Vaman Shenoy Vishwa Konkani Seva awards.

The two have been selected for awards in the men s and women s category respectively.

The award has been instituted by the city-based World Konkani Centre and the Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation.

The award, sponsored by Vishwa Konkani Kendra chief patron and Manipal Global Education chairman T V Mohandas Pai, carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each and citation.

The awards would be presented at a ceremony to be held here on November 20, a release here said.
