The tractor was hurled several metres away by the impact of the collision, grievously injuring its 55-year-old driver Lakhan Rai who succumbed to injuries at a hospital later, Sharma said. Also Read - Bihar Student Reaches Board Exam Centre in High Fever To Save Year, Dies

The trolley had got entwined with the train’s engine and the Rajdhani Express could resume its journey only after the mangled heap of metal was removed, the RPF official said.

Rail traffic was affected on the line for a few hours as local people squatted on the tracks demanding that gates be installed at the unmanned crossing, he said.
