New Delhi, Jun 28 (PTI) Rice basmati prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to emergence of buying by stockists. Also Read - Select bold grains slip on reduced offtake

Wheat also strengthened on increased offtake by flour mills. Also Read - Pulses prevail steady on tight conditions

Traders said stockists’ buying to meet increased demand from local parties against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up rice basmati prices. Also Read - Barley up on scattered demand

In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety went up by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 7,400-7,500 and Rs 6,750-6,850 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat dara (for mills) also edged higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1,760-1,765 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,770-1,775 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also traded higher by Rs 10 each to 950-960, Rs 970-980 and Rs 1,040-1,050 per 50 kg, respectively.
