Howrah (WB), Nov 30 (PTI) West Bengal cabinet Friday gave its nod to set up welfare board for fire fighters on the lines of the one for the police, state Fire and Emergency Services Minister Firhad Hakim said.
We will soon formulate the welfare board for the fire department just like what has been done for the police department. The cabinet has given its nod today, Hakim said after the Cabinet meeting here at the state secretariat.
Besides, senior officials of the department, there will be representatives from each sections of the department in the board, he said.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also gave its nod for the recruitment of 6878 teachers in 2198 primary and upper primary schools in the state.
Of them 6594 teachers will be recruited for Bengali, Hindi and Al-chiki languages, 284 Santhal teachers, Hakim said.
The cabinet also gave the green signal to set up a 10 megawatt solar power plant in 52-acre of land in Raniganj in West Burdwan district, the minister said.
