Nagapattinam, May 23 (PTI): A 15-day workshop on epigraphy and archaeology for history researchers in Tamil Nadu commenced at Tarangambadi in this district today.
Inaugurating the workshop, Nagapattinam district Collector S Pazhanisamy said it was aimed at teaching the nuances of epigraphy and archaeology to history researchers.
Over 40 researchers from various colleges and research institutions in the State are attending the workshop, being organised by the Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department.
He said leading epigraphists and archaeologists would conduct sessions on identifying the language and script of inscriptions.
Deputy Director of Archaeology Department Sivanandam was among those present.
