Los Angeles, Jun 9 (PTI) “Memoirs of a Geisha” star Zhang Ziyi is the latest addition to the star cast of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”.

The 38-year-old actress is set to join the film which is being directed by Michael Dougherty, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is a follow-up to the 2014’s “Godzilla”, which has been penned by Zach Shields, along with Dougherty.

Zhang has also been roped in for other installments of the film franchise, including “Godzilla vs Kong”, as character is a key figure in the covert, creature-cataloguing Monarch organisation whose premise has been established in the films.

Apart from Zhang, the film also features Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown.

The movie is slated to release on March 22, 2019, while “Godzilla vs Kong” will the screens in 2020.
