United States’ celebrity chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain was on Friday found dead in his hotel room, reported CNN. The 61-year-old author hanged himself inside the hotel room, confirmed network’s Brian Stelter.
Bourdain had been hosting the show “Parts Unknown” on CNN for the past several days. He was working on an episode in Strasbourg, France, when he died. Bourdain killed himself in a hotel room, CNN said in a statement.
Bourdain was found unresponsive by his close friend Eric Ripert, the renowned French chef, in his hotel room on Friday morning.
Bourdain rose to fame in the year 2000 when his book — Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly – became the bestseller.

He moved to CNN in 2013 with his food show “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown”, which is currently in its eleventh season.
