Last year, the national transporter increased the frequency of Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express from bi-weekly to four days a week. Now, this train runs on all days of the week. The first service of Vivek Express was started on November 19, 2011. The Vivek Express offers passengers a comprehensive view of India’s diverse geography, from the lush tea gardens of Assam to the sandy shores of Kanyakumari.

• The express train traverses through nine states.
• It covers the entire journey in 74 hours.
• While in the return journey i.e. Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express takes 75:25 hrs to cover the same distance.
• The train is currently the longest train route in the country by both distance and time.
• The Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express consists of 22 coaches – 1 AC Two tier, 4 AC Three tier, 11 Sleeper class, 3 General seating, 1 Pantry car, and 2 Power cum luggage rakes.
• The passenger travelling from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari in AC Two tier will need to pay Rs 4,450 per head
• The passengers travelling in AC Three tier and Sleeper class need to pay Rs 3,015 and Rs 1,185 respectively.

• The train number 22504 Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express depart at 19:55 hrs to reach Kanyakumari at 21:55.
• In its return journey, the train number 22503 Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express leaves at 17:25 hrs and reaches Dibrugarh at 20:50 hrs.
• Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has notified for revision in the timing of Vivek Express at three railway stations – Simaluguri, Naharkatiya, and New Tinsukia.
• The zonal railway has changed the timetable of train number 22503 Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express.
• The train will now stop at Simaluguri at 17:10 hrs instead of 17:21, Naharkatiya at 18:20 hrs instead of 19:00 hrs, and New Tinsukia at 19:00 hrs instead of 19:35 hrs.
• The train will halt for 2 minutes each at Simaluguri and Naharkatiya. It will halt for 10 minutes at New Tinsukia railway station.
