Tata H5 SUV Unveiling Tomorrow in India at Auto Expo 2018: Price, Interior, Images & Launch Date

Auto Expo 2018 - The Tata H5 SUV (Q501) will rival the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass, while the Q502 will rival the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson.

Tata Motors is set to launch the much awaited Tata H5 SUV at Auto Expo 2018, tomorrow in India. The Tata H5 SUV is likely to be offered in two seating configurations and will be powered by a Fiat sourced engine that will be available in two power tunes. The H5 is also known internally as the Tata Harrier, while the two body style configurations are known as Tata Q501 and Q502. The 5-seat Tata Q501 will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass while the 7-seat Q502 will rival the Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Tucson. The Tata H5 SUV is underpinned by a heavily localized Land Rover Discovery Sport’s LS550 platform. This lightweight monocoque chassis will aid ride quality, handling and minimize body roll. The H5 SUV will be available in two body styles and will get two seating configurations – 5-seat and 7-seat. The Tata H5 will debut the company’s ‘IMPACT Design 2.0’ philosophy and will come with design highlights like 3D hexagonal grille with the humanity line, LED projector headlamps, massive alloy wheels, sloping roofline and LED tail lamps. The Tata H5 SUV will be propelled Fiat’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is expected to come with two different power tunes to suit the dynamics of the Q501 and Q502. On the Tata Q501, it will produce 140 BHP of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, this engine will pump out 170 BHP of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. As far as pricing is concerned, the Tata Q501 (Hyundai Creta rival) is expected to be priced between INR 9 lakh to INR 13 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Tata Q502 (Jeep Compass & Honda CR-V rival) is expected to be priced between INR 12 lakh to INR 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
