Maruti Swift 2018: The Indo-Japanese car maker is all set to launch the third generation Swift in India on February 8. The new generation Swift will be powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit. The former is capable of making max power of 83 bhp and 140Nm of power figures while the latter can produce peak power of 74 bhp against the peak torque of 190Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care by 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed AMT unit. Tata X451: The upcoming X451 premium hatch will be Tata’s take on the premium space which is currently ruled by Maruti’s Baleno hatch. It is expected to get 1.2-litre turbo-charged Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-charged Revotorq diesel. It will be based on Tata’s new AMP platform. It will compete against Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. Tata Q501: With the increasing demand in the SUV space, Tata Motors is too planning to strengthen its product portfolio for the domestic market. The home grown car maker will also showcase Tata H5 SUV which will be pitted against Jeep Compass. It will be based on Land Rover’s L550 platform. It is expected to draw its power from a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder MultiJet II diesel that will make 140 hp of power. Honda Civic: Honda Cars India will be showcasing the new Honda Civic at the Auto Expo 2018 alongside New CR-V and Amaze sub-compact sedan. The new Civic is available in 3 body types in the global market – hatchback, coupe and sedan, however, the domestic market will get the sedan version. It will compete with other players in the market such as Hyundai Elantra, Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis. Maruti FutureS Concept: Maruti Suzuki India, country’s leading car manufacturer has confirmed its presence at the Auto Expo. The Indo-Japanese car maker will also showcase Maruti FutureS Concept alongside 17 more products at the motor show. The new FutureS concept will be based on Maruti’s Heartect platform that will sport all-new design language. The Future S will be positioned below Vitara Brezza and will also shorter by 200mm than the sub-4m SUV.
