Patna, June 18: A 14-year-old girl was gang-raped by four men in an abandoned building of Ahiyapur village of Sarmera police station area in Bihar’s Nalanda late on Saturday evening. All the four accused have been arrested on charges of rape under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO).
According to the police, the girl left home to catch a bus to her aunt’s house as she was upset with her mother. At the bus stop, a man who is familiar to the girl managed to convince the minor to accompany him. Nalanda Superintendent of Police said, “The man then got three of his friends to go along with him and the four of them took the girl to the abandoned building, where they raped her and filmed the act.”
Complaint against the alleged rapists was filed by the victim’s parents after the girl informed her family about the incident on Sunday. The crime has taken place in Nalanda which is the home place of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Over the last few days, crimes against women are escalating in Bihar. On June 14, a 15-year-old girl and her mother were gang-raped by armed men near Sondiha village of Gaya district after they tied the girl’s father to a tree. Two days earlier, when a video of a girl being molested while she was with by her male friend went viral on social media, the police took suo motu action.
