LK Advani Admitted To Apollo Hospital In Delhi

The 96-year-old veteran leader was admitted to the same hospital in the first week of July too.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and former Union Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday. The condition of the former deputy prime minister is said to be stable.

The 96-year-old veteran leader was admitted to the same hospital in the first week of July too and discharged after being kept under observation for a couple of days.

Advani was earlier admitted in the old private ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on the night of June 27 where he was evaluated and treated by doctors from different specialities including urology and geriatric medicine.

Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital, New Delhi on July 3 under the observation of Dr Vinit Suri where he was kept under observation.

Advani held the position of Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004, as well as that of Union Home Minister from 1999 to 2004.

In March, President Droupadi Murmu awarded Advani the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian honor, at his residence. The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and members of Advani’s family.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi had a meeting with him prior to the formation of his third government.
