The airline has apparently cancelled all the departures and the passengers are being asked to not to report at the airports mentioned above.

In the morning today, the newly installed IT system of the airline crashed round the globe. This happened sixth time in 2017. The technical snag also shut down the website of the airline for two hours. 404 Error could be seen on the BA web page, but now it is back on track. With this system outage, many at the airport were left stranded and huge queues were witnessed at the check-in counters. Passengers at the airport and around the globe took to Twitter to vent out their frustration.

The airlines under 140 characters on Twitter apologised to the passengers for the system outage. It wrote,” We apologise for the current IT systems outage. We are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.” Even staff of Heathrow, which is one of the busiest airports in the world, was helping the airlines fix the issue. Spokesmen of Heathrow was quoted by The Telegraph UK, saying, as the system of the airline went down we are working with them to fix issues and we suggest passengers check flight status before they head to the airport.

Planes of BA around the world were grounded and passengers were stuck in planes of at the airport. One of the frustrated passenger posted a picture on social media of BA staff writing gate numbers on a white board. “We’ve tried all of the self-check-in machines. None were working, apart from one,” said Terry Page, a passenger booked on a flight to Texas. “There was a huge queue for it and it later transpired that it didn’t actually work, but you didn’t discover that until you got to the front.”

The problem comes on a holiday weekend when thousands of Britons are travelling.
