New Delhi, October 17: Soon after the reports of gang-rape of two minors in the New Delhi shocked the nation on Saturday morning, politicians and government came into action saying that tough actions will be taken by the perpetrators. As the Delhi chief minister blamed the central government for rising crime against women in the city, the Delhi Commission for Women chief she would reach to the depth of the reason why these crimes are happening in the capital.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital on Saturday to meet the rape victim, whom are said to be out of danger right now. Speaking to the media, Kejriwal said that the Centre controls police administration in the capital, and he has no role to play in decreasing the crime rate in the capital. He said, “Police does not come under Delhi Govt, Modi ji has kept the Police with him and doesn’t do anything. Police has a huge role in this, they have to create an environment of security in the city.” (ALSO READ: Delhi shamed again! Two minors gang-raped, both critical)
He further added, “I request Prime Minister to take some time out, meet Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and find out ways to deal with crimes against women in Delhi.” But he also assured that his government would do all the necessary thing in order to deal with the rising crimes. Kejriwal said, “Its a really sad state of affairs that little girls are being subjected to such crimes, we will do whatever is necessary.”
The Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal said that she was surprised with the inhuman behaviour of the people. Maliwal was seen shocked at the rising crimes and while speaking to the media she said, “In 7 days, this is 3rd such case. I dont get this, what sort of ghastly people are these?” Maliwal assured that the commission will reach out to the depth of these incidents and won’t let another Nirbhaya to happen in the capital. She said, “I will reach out wherever I can against such crimes. We do not want another Nirbhaya in Delhi.”

According to reports, unidentified men on Friday abducted a two-and-a-half year old girl from outside her house in West Delhi’s Nangloi area and raped her. The minor was found bleeding profusely in a park by neighbours. In another case, a five-year-old was gang-raped by three men. The incident took place in East Delhi’s Anand Vihar area on Saturday. A neighbour took the victim to his home and raped her with two of his friends. When locals saw the girl coming out of the neighbour’s house crying with blood on her clothes, they thrashed the three accused and handed over to the police. However the locals helped the police to arrest the accused in the in the second case, cops have failed to make any arrest in the first case. According to Maliwal, 11,000 FIRs were registered for crimes against women in 2014, while there were only nine convictions.
