New Delhi, October 17: Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday slammed Arvind Kejriwal for playing politics over the two gang-rape that shook the entire national capital. Senior Congress leader said that Delhi chief minister is insensitive about women safety, and are shying away from taking responsibility to prevent it. “Delhi CM must stop playing blame game, instead cooperate with Home Ministry, Lt Governor and Delhi Police for welfare of the people,” said Dikshit. “I wish Mr. Kejriwal becomes a little more serious about governance and less about politics,” she added.
Sheila Dikshit stressed on co-ordination between Centre and Delhi government and asked Aam Aadmi Party chief to co-operate with Centre. “Impression that comes out is not of a CM who wants Delhi to improve but one behaving as a mere politician opposing everything. People of Delhi are feeling the need for coordinated administration, Kejriwal should pay heed to it,” said Dikshit.
Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday trained his guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Delhi Police on the gang rape of two minors. “The Delhi police is under absolutely no democratic control. Who holds the responsibility of the Delhi Police report? Prime Minister says he has the police under him, so he should answer on this issue, but we won’t remain silent,” Kejriwal told the media.
When asked if a better cooperation between Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor could make capital a safer place, Kejriwal said that he was ready to co-operate. “I am willing to cooperate please ask, LG if he is ready to do same or not. The LG and the police has only one work left to hinder the work of the government. They should ponder over the security concerns of women also,” he added.
