New Delhi, Feb 11: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dr Kumar Vishwas may join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and campaign for the saffron party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017. Kumar Vishwas, who unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha elections from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, is said to be in touch with BJP leaders of the state and give big setback to AAP ahead of Punjab Assembly elections.
The speculations regarding Kumar Vishwas joining BJP began when BJP chief of Uttar Pradesh Om Mathur attended his birthday party in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri on Wednesday night. Union minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, National Security advisor, Ajit Doval, industrialist Navin Jindal, BJP MP and singer Manoj Tiwari, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha and several other BJP leaders were also seen in the party. According to report, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Om Mathur and Kumar Vishwas spent some alone time and talked for quite some time. When Mathur was asked about the discussion between AAP leader and hi, he just smiled and said, ‘nothing’. There are reports that BJP may induct Kumar Vishwas just ahead of UP assembly polls.
Kumar Vishwas and AAP leader Kapil Mishra have denied the reports. “Leaders from all parties and senior people of all channels greeted me on my birthday. So, am I joining all of them?,” tweeted Vishwash, who has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on few occasions in past.
If Kumar Vishwas joins BJP, it will be big blow for AAP and Arvind Kejriwal, who has already missed key party leaders like Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.
