Mumbai, Oct 13: Former Special Public Prosecutor in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts, Rohini Salian revealed the name of National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer who instructed her to present a weak case against the prime accused who are linked to the saffron brigade. Salian, who had quit her post three months earlier, named the NIA personnel who allegedly conveyed the message to her on behalf of the Centre. In her affidavit to the Bombay High Court, she accused Suhas Warke, a Superintendent of Police in the NIA branch of Mumbai. “I am told that a criminal contempt petition is filed before this Honb’le court and in administration of justice and as an officer of the court, I am disclosing the name of the NIA officer, who had tried to interfere with the delivery of the administration of justice, as a messenger. His name is Suhas Warke, SP, NIA, Mumbai branch,” she said in the affidavit, the copy of which was accessed by The Indian Express. Mumbai based activist Sanjay Likhe Patil has submitted the copy of affidavit to the Supreme Court of India, and has demanded the apex judiciary to initiate contempt proceeding against the NIA. Patil has also accused the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and the Maharashtra state government of trying to shield Hindu extremists belonging to organizations who offer covert and overt support to the ruling regime. In the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts, Swami Aseemanand, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Colonel Shrikant Purohit, along with 12 other are held as prime accused. The trio have been linked to ruling BJP’s ideological parent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). A Special NIA court on Monday rejected the bail petition filed by them on Monday.
