New Delhi, April 7: A chilling video has surfaced of the hit-and-run case of Delhi in which 32-year-old business executive Sidharth Sharma was killed by a speeding car. The family of deceased Sidharth Sharma released a CCTV footage of the fatal accident. In the video, the speeding Mercedes is seen knocking down Sidharth when he was trying to cross the road.

The accident took place around 10 p.m. on Monday at Sham Nath Marg in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area. Sidharth Sharma, was crossing the road near Ludlow Castle School when a Mercedes hit him. Sharma, the marketing head of a multinational enterprise, was flung several feet into the air and landed at least 15 metres away, severely injured. Due to the impact of the accident, a tyre of the car burst and it stopped after a sharp drift on the road, the official said. “The accused fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind,” said a police officer, adding a case under the section of rash and negligent driving of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and hunt is on for the absconding culprit. The car’s owner, Manoj Agarawal, was called to the police station and after questioning him it came to light that the vehicle was being driven by a teenager, whose identity is withheld, the officer added.
