New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman from West Bengal was allegedly raped multiple times by men arranged by her landlady, a resident of Geeta Colony in east Delhi. In her complaint to the police, the survivor also accused a relative of the landlady and his friend of gangraping her once.
The incident came to light after the survivor narrated the ordeal to her husband, who approached the police station with the help of an NGO. On the basis of the complaint, the police have arrested the landlady and one of the accused. A case of gangrape has been registered against them under the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.
In her statement to the police, the survivor revealed that the landlady offered her job as a domestic help after her husband, who worked at a company was left unemployed during the sealing drive.
In 2018, the accused took the survivor to a businessman’s office in Jheel Khurenja. On reaching there, the landlady snatched her one-year-old daughter from her arms and pushed her (survivor) in a room where the businessman allegedly raped her. After the brutal incident, the landlady blackmailed her and threatened of dire consequences if she went to the police.
The landlady then took the survivor to a government hospital as she was bleeding following the sexual assault. At the hospital, she was taken inside a room by a man disguised as doctor and raped again. The survivor had also accused a relative of the landlady and his friend of gangraping her.
