New Delhi: A body of a woman was found stuffed inside a wardrobe of a rented apartment in Delhi’s Dwarka area. Police said a police control room (PCR) call was received at Dabri police station at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday regarding the murder of a woman in Gali No 10, Rajapuri, following which a police team rushed to the spot and found the 26-year-old woman’s body inside the wardrobe. According to media reports, the deceased has been identified as Rukshar Rajput.
“Upon entering the flat, the dead body of the deceased was found in the almirah of the room. The crime scene was inspected by the crime team and FSL personnel,” a senior police official told IANS, adding that the deceased’s body was transferred to DDU Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
The caller, Mustkim, father of Rukshar, told the police team that a man named Vipal Tailor, his daughter’s boyfriend, had killed her. He said that his daughter had been living in this flat with Vipal Tailor for the past one and a half months.
“Efforts are underway to locate the accused, Vipal Tailor, a native of Gujarat’s Surat, and based on the statement of the complainant, Mustkim, a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered,” the official said, adding that police teams are also scanning CCTV cameras in the area to know the sequence of the crime.
On February 2023, a man in southwest Delhi murdered his girlfriend and stuffed her body inside a refrigerator of his dhaba (eatery) and went off to marry another woman the same day. The accused, Sahil Gehlot (24), a resident of Mitraon village was arrested. The incident came to light on Valentine’s Day. The 23-year-old woman’s body was recovered on Tuesday morning from the refrigerator. Police said the accused had hidden the fact from his girlfriend Nikki Yadav that his marriage was fixed with another woman.
When Nikki came to know about his wedding, she had a heated argument with the accused which led to her murder.
The couple was in a relationship for the past few years and Nikki wanted to marry the accused. On the intervening night of February 9 and 10, when the victim confronted the accused about his marriage, he killed her using the data cable of his mobile phone in his car and then kept her body in a refrigerator at his dhaba, a senior police officer said.
