New Delhi: The Delhi government on Sunday announced new restrictions amid an alarming rise in coronavirus cases, reports NDTV. While most public gatherings are banned, limits have been set for attendance at restaurants, theatres, on public transport and functions like weddings and funerals. The new rules will stay in place till April 30, along with the earlier announced 10 pm to 5 am night curfew. These include a ban on all types of social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious gatherings in Delhi.

It will be mandatory for people travelling by air from Maharashtra to Delhi to carry a negative RT-PCR test done 72 hours prior to arrival. If found without report, travellers will have to undergo mandatory quarantine of 14 days, said Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

  1. Swimming pools in Delhi to remain closed except for training of sportspersons participating in national, global events.
  2. Not more than 20 people allowed in funeral gatherings in national capital, upto 50 in weddings.
  3. Restaurants, bars and cinemas will operate at 50 per cent of their seating capacity.
  4. Colleges, coaching institutions to remain closed in Delhi
  5. Buses and metro will also take only half as many people as they can seat.
  6. Stadia can hold sports events but without spectators.
  7. Negative RT-PCR report required for travellers arriving in Delhi from Maharashtra by air, 14-day quarantine for those without report.
