A homeless labourer from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly beaten to death by a woman and her three sons after the victim reportedly tried to break into their house in Aman Vihar area of Rohini in North-West Delhi.

Delhi Murder: In a horrifying incident, a homeless man was allegedly beaten to death by a woman and her three sons after the victim reportedly tried to break into their house in Aman Vihar area of North-West Delhi’s Rohini. According to the police, the deceased victim, identified as 30-year-old Sandeep alias Bhura, a resident of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was brutally attacked by the suspects after they allegedly caught him trying to sneak into their house with the intention to rob the premises.

“A woman identified as Sunita and her three sons — Sumit, Amit and Vineet — caught hold of Sandeep and thrashed him with sticks, leaving him critically injured,” an officer said.

The incident came to light when some passersby saw them taking a badly injured man in an e-rickshaw and immediately contacted the police, he added.

As per the police, after assaulting Sandeep, Sunita and her son put the victim in an e-rickshaw and dumped him at an isolated spot in an injured state before fleeing the scene. Some passersby witnessed them taking Sandeep in the rickshaw and informed the cops, they said.

Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and rushed Sandeep to the SGM Hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said, adding that the victim was a vagabond who did odd jobs as a labourer in the area to earn a living.

The accused have been arrested and a case registered against them under Section 103/3(5) (murder by a group) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a senior officer said.

Police said the victim’s body has kept at the SGM Hospital for post-mortem and his family in Uttar Pradesh has been informed about the incident, adding that CCTV footage from the crime scene is being scanned to establish the chain of events which led to the brutal murder.

Further investigation in the case is underway, they added.
