Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory For traffic arrangements at Laxmi Narayan Mandir

Delhi Traffic Advisory: The Delhi Traffic Police has imposed specific traffic restrictions and diversions in and around Arun Jaitley Stadium (formerly Firoz Shah Kotla) as the Delhi Premier League 2024 (DPL-2024) began on August 17 and will continue until September 8. Both men’s and women’s day-night matches will be played at the stadium, and traffic congestion is expected on the routes due to the influx of spectators and security reasons.

Delhi Premier League Traffic Advisory: Restrictions and Diversions

On certain routes, including the stretch from Daryaganj to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road, large vehicles and buses are prohibited from operating.

Delhi Premier League Traffic Advisory: Timing for Traffic Diversions

On match days, between 4:30 PM and midnight, these roads can experience congestion and are advised to be avoided:

• Rajghat to JLN Marg
• JLN Marg from Kamla Market Roundabout to Rajghat
• Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate
• Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk to Delhi Gate

Delhi Premier League Traffic Advisory: General Vehicle Restrictions

During game days, be careful where you park your vehicle. Areas including Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg, and Ring Road from Rajghat to I.P. Flyover are strictly off-limits for parking. Any vehicle found parked illegally here will have to bear the repercussions which could include towing and possible legal ramifications.

Delhi Premier League Traffic Advisory: Stadium Entry Points

Access to the stadium will be allowed from these gates of Arun Jaitley Stadium.

• Arun Jaitley Stadium Southern Side: Gate numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be accessible from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.
• Arun Jaitley Stadium Eastern Side: Gate numbers 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 will be reachable from JLN Marg, adjacent to the Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal.
• Arun Jaitley Stadium Western Side: Gate numbers 16, 17, and 18 will be accessed from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, near the petrol pump.

Delhi Premier League Traffic Advisory: Parking Arrangements

• There’s a parking system in place close to the stadium where only a few spots are reserved specifically for vehicles with an acceptable parking permit. Make sure your permit is displayed right on your car’s windshield where it’s easily visible, with the vehicle’s license plate number distinctly marked. Just remember, cars that don’t have the needed permit won’t be permitted to park in this designated zone.
• Navigating to Parking Lots: To get to the parking areas P1, P2, and P3, you’ll need to go down Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, near the gas station. For those with the right permissions, your best bet is to head in from Ring Road, JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, or Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, where you’re allowed to make a U-turn at Delhi Gate.
• Alternative Parking: Without label vehicles must be parked at Shanti Van, Mata Sundari Road, and Power House Road.
