The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) aims to create history for itself with the third consecutive term, while the BJP is giving a tough battle, and Congress is doing everything to reclaim power in the nation’s capital. Talking about high-profile seats and candidates, only one constituency is in the limelight – New Delhi. From this constituency, AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against the saffron party’s Parvesh Verma. Congress has fielded the party’s veteran leader Sandeep Dikshit.
Another prominent name is Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who is locking horns from the Kalkaji Assembly constituency against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba. BJP’s key candidate Parvesh Verma, who is contesting against Kejriwal and Sandeep Dikshit, has dominated headlines with his strong statements.
Parvesh made a big remark about Kejriwal before the voting day. He stated that Kejriwal will lose this election and finish in third place. Not only that, Verma also promised voters that he would change Talkatora Stadium’s name to Valmiki Stadium if comes into power.
The BJP MP is former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma’s son. He tied knots to Swati Singh Verma, who is Vikram Verma’s daughter.
Parvesh happily married to Swati Singh Verma. The couple has three children, one son – Shiven Singh, two daughters, Sanidhi and Prisha.
In a 2024 interview with News 18 India, Parvesh Verma recounted a notable story regarding his marriage. The politician disclosed that he informed Swati that if she genuinely wished to marry him, she needed to be prepared to have five children. Parvesh Verma emphasized his long-standing desire for a family of five and mentioned that after considering his stipulation for a few moments, Swati agreed. The BJP MP expressed his happiness, stating that he felt elated when Swati accepted his unconventional requirement for marriage.
Despite Swati agreeing to the condition set by BJP MP Parvesh Verma, circumstances took a different turn. During the same interview, Parvesh mentioned that all three of his children were delivered via cesarean section. Consequently, when he expressed his desire for two more children after the third birth, the doctor recommended against it. Parvesh disclosed that the doctor advised both him and his wife to refrain from trying for a fourth child due to the fact that Swati had undergone cesarean deliveries for all three of their children. The politician confessed that he felt disappointed upon hearing this and even told the doctor, “You have caused me a great loss.”
Parvesh and Swati Verma, belong to two prominent and powerful political families. Parvesh is former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma’s son, while Swati is the daughter of BJP leader Vikram Verma.
Swati Verma made headlines and rose to fame when she filed a nomination for the New Delhi Assembly seat in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025.
