Manish Sisodia Taken To Hospital From Jail

As mentioned earlier, incarcerated AAP leader Manish Sisodia was brought to the Delhi government-run LNJP Hospital for consultation for orthopaedic issues on Tuesday, sources said. The former Delhi deputy chief minister is lodged in jail in connection with the excise policy case. According to a PTI report, a source said that Sisodia was brought to the LNJP today around 11 am. He had some orthopedic issues for which he was brought there for treatment and consultation.

Sisodia was holding portfolio of the excise department along with being the deputy CM before he was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February, following with another arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), both in two different cases related to the liquor policy scam case. The CBI, in its statement, said Manish Sisodia was grilled for hours in connection to the excise policy and his alleged links with Dinesh Arora and other accused mentioned in the FIR. The agency said it did not find Sisodia’s answers “satisfactory”. The CBI said, “He (Manish Sisodia) gave evasive replies and did not cooperate the investigation despite being confronted with evidence to the contrary.”

“The instant case was registered against Deputy Chief Minister and In charge Excise Minister, GNCTD of Delhi and 14 others for investigation into the matter of alleged irregularities in framing and implementation of Excise Policy for the year 2021-22 and extending post tender benefits to private persons,” the CBI said.
