About 500 to 700 civil aspirants protested on Thursday night and clashed with the police in Burari area, Delhi, reportedly upset over the C-SAT aptitude test. The angry students demanded the C-SAT, civil service aptitude test to be scrapped.
The UPSC aspirants went on a rampage with police. They took to violent actions and burnt vehicles including a police jeep while pelting stones near main highway by-pass road in the Burari area .The police force had to use tear gas canisters and resort to lathi charge to disseminate the rampage by angry students.
About 20 protesters from the mob have been detained followed by case filed against them for rioting and causing damage to the public property. Delhi fire services received a call about the fire on the police jeep at about 8:50 after which they rushed to the spot.
Earlier the students had protested reportedly upset over the Union Public Service Commission issuing admit cards for the preliminary examination scheduled next and also wanted the preliminary test to be conducted in Hindi.
