New Delhi, January 21: The cellular giant Vodafone has launched its 4G-ready sims for Delhi-NCR customers on Thursday. The company has come up with lucrative offers with the upgrade that will provide 1 Gb free data along with other discounts. Though the announcement of formal commercial launch of 4G service is scheduled to be made later, the Business Head of Delhi and NCR circle, Vodafone India Apoorva Mehrotra launched the 4G-Ready SIM at the capital today. With this launch, Vodafone aims to grow its base in the national capital by providing the 4G speed and the facilities that come along with it to its customers at an affordable rate. The customers who are willing for an upgrade, will have to send a short SMS “GO4G” to 199 and then proceed with the messages that they will receive in their cellphones. Along with it, the customers will need a 4G handset to access the services and to make the launch successful, all the Vodafone stores have upgraded it for the customer friendly experience. Announcing the launch of new serviceBusiness Head of Delhi and NCR for Vodafone India Apoorva Mehrotra, said, “Before we step into the next generation of telecommunications, we want to make the transition to 4G to be smooth and seamless for our 10 million customers in Delhi & NCR. We want them to be 4G-ready so that they can start experiencing the benefits of high speed mobile internet services as soon as they are launched commercially. Hence, this facility to upgrade to 4G-ready SIMs in advance. After the successful launch of the 4G services in Kerala and Mysuru in Karnataka, Vodafone has planned to roll-out its services to major metros like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru by March 2016. The company claims that they have tested the service to support the expected volumes and speed requirements of its customers. Adding on, they have planned to deliver 4G-Ready SIM cards to its customers at home, free of charge.
