Lucknow, Mar 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday instructed all the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs to solely focus on delivering good governance in Uttar Pradesh and categorically asked them to not seek any favours from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in terms of transfers and postings across the state.
As per the reports, PM Narendra Modi met the BJP MPs over breakfast at his residence and thanked them for working hard to ensure BJP’s victory in assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Modi also asked the MPs to work with party MLAs as a team to transform the state. He also said that the party has been able to achieve a great victory to serve the people and now it should focus to make Uttar Pradesh a corruption-free state.
“Modiji said that the party’s MPs and MLAs from the state need to work as a team. The Prime Minister also made it clear that we have been given mandate to work hard but not to enjoy,” an MP present in the meeting said. He also said that the party MPs should refrain from approaching Adityanath or anybody else for personal favours, another MP said.
ALL THAT HAPPENED IN THE CHARCHA WITH NARENDRA MODI
This was Modi’s first meeting with the BJP MPs from the state of Uttar Pradesh after the party’s victory in the assembly elections. It has been reported that it the coming days, Modi is scheduled to hold five more meetings with the party MPs from different regions.
The instruction from PM Modi has come as a sign of relief for many who had earlier criticised the BJP government for elevating a Hindutva revolutionary, who had also been criticised for allegedly raising provocative speeches, to the position of a CM.
