In India, the moon sighting typically occurs a day later than in Saudi Arabia. Consequently, Eid-ul-Fitr in India is expected to be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025. The moon sighting process is integral to determining the festival’s date. Saudi Arabia and some other Gulf Arab states are to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday from Sunday but other Middle Eastern countries will not do so until Monday.
“The Supreme Court has decided that… Sunday, March 30, 2025, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr,” the Saudi Royal Court says in a statement carried by official media.
