In March, ordinary customers often confuse regarding the working and holidays of banks. Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the ‘Night of Power’, will be celebrated on March 27. Apart from this, the last Friday of Ramadan, Juma-ul-Vida, will be on March 28 and Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, will be celebrated on March 31. Due to this, banks will remain closed on March 27 and 28 in Jammu and Kashmir. March 29 is the fifth Saturday, i.e. banks will remain open on that day.

Banks will remain open on 31 March

According to reports, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had initially declared March 31 as a bank holiday, but it has since cancelled the holiday as it is the last day of the financial year 2024-25 and also the deadline to make financial changes for the year. Therefore, to avoid any discrepancies and to have accurate financial reporting, banks will remain open on Monday, March 31. In case of any further confusion regarding bank holidays, it is best to contact your nearest bank branch.

Online service will continue

Customers can still use digital or net banking services throughout the year, unless the bank notifies otherwise. All bank websites, banking apps, UPI and ATM services will remain active. You can also start fixed deposits or recurring deposits digitally on such days.
